Henry & Glenn Forever Book Release Party!

THIS FRIDAY! April 30th, 2010

Henry and Glenn Forever is the ridiculous idea born out of a night of too many beers shared by a group of artists who sometimes call themselves Igloo Tornado. On that night Gin Stevens said "There should be a Tom of Finland book, but with Henry and Glenn..." and Tom Neely and Scot Nobles replied: "Yes! And we're going to do it!" This bold idea (or is it a bad idea?) became a small zine that grew into a notorious legend that has now become a nice little book published by Cantankerous Titles!

Come to the book release party at
In Silverlake- 3817 W. Sunset Blvd, LA, CA.
8-10 pm

Get the book - it's only $4!
See the original art - also cheap!
Drink some drinks!

FRIDAY! FRIDAY! FRIDAY!

I'm playing records at Vacation Vinyl!

This Saturday is Record Store Day!
And Vacation Vinyl asked me to do one of my favorite things-
play records for people (I think the pros call it DJing, but whatever).

I've only been allowed to play music at a party a few times in the past: One of those times I almost got beat up by a huge dude wearing overalls and hip boots that were filled with bottles of beer. He kept punching me in the chest and yelling "Play some muthafuckin' Hip Hop!" So, I played "Bring the Noise" by Anthrax/Public Enemy and he wasn't amused... Another time I got to play records at a party, I asked my wife out for our first date (score!).

Both times I managed to clear the room by playing a bunch of music that no one wants to hear at a party... However, Vacation Vinyl specializes in a lot of that music, so I suspect it will be a more successful venue for me.

Either way, I'll be there this Saturday, April 17th, from 3:00 to 4:30 playing all kinds of music and doing my best to entertain and/or annoy everyone in the store. They have guest DJs all day including Larry Herweg from Pelican, Jeff Caxide from ISIS, Keith Morris from Black Flagg and The Circle Jerks, Sarah Toon from Killing Spree, and a super secret DJ that I will definitely stick around for.

I'll also have some of my comic books and prints for sale.

More info here! Come out and say "hi."
And support your local record stores!

Meet Joe Friday's new partner...

I don't think Joe Friday was a vegan, but maybe if he'd had a pig for a partner, he would've realized how amazing they are and he would give up eating meat. Anyway... I designed this shirt for The Vegan Police. $10 from every shirt sold goes to the Ruby Ranch Pig Sanctuary. It's for a good cause, and it's a funny shirt. You should get one. More info at the link: GO BUY ONE NOW!

FUNNY (not funny)

I was in this great exhibition of "Black Humor" comics art curated by Ryan Standfest at a gallery in Detroit.

I just received a copy of the exhibition catalog in the mail, and it's a beauty! A great collection of dark comics by a whole lot of great cartoonists. You should order one from Ryan now! Or get it at Desert Island Comics in Brooklyn, Quimby's Comics in Chicago, Chicago Comics, or Leopold's books in Detroit. It's also available from Amazon.
